10/23/2007 Meeting Information
The Missouri 8-Man Football Coaches Association held their second meeting on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. The officers met to discuss the selection of all-district and all-state teams, all-star banquet, and possible all-star game.
The officers determined the number of players that will make All-District and All-State teams. The All-District teams will consist of:
• 1 quarterback
• 3 running backs
• 1 all-purpose back
• 3 ends
• 5 offensive linemen
• 3 defensive linemen
• 3 defensive ends
• 3 linebackers
• 4 defensive backs
• 1 kicker
• 1 punter
• 1 return specialistThe All-State teams will be the same positions, but there will be 2 teams named.
District coaches will determine their own All-District team, then all of the coaches in the state will meet on November 28th at Barnard to determine the All-State team. All-District will just consist of district games and All-State will be comprised of the whole season.
The All-State banquet was also discussed at the meeting. It will be held at Stanberry High School on December 16th at 6:00 P.M. The banquet will include an awards ceremony, guest speaker, and a catered meal. Athletes receiving awards will not be charged for the event. Coaches, family, and friends are encouraged to attend for a dining fee of $12.00 per person.
2007-2008 dues were also discussed at the meeting. Missouri 8-Man Coaches Association dues will be $30 and are due at All-State selections.
